Cliff's mother and sister-in-law flew into Atlanta on Thursday for a 3-day visit.  We finally arrived at the house at 7 PM and had homemade pasta fagioli and strawberry-rhubarb crisp.  Dot did very well for 89 years young.  Travel day is always tiring not matter what your age.  It's a day of driving to the airport two hours before the flight, sitting, waiting, boarding, more sitting and waiting, then in this case, a 3-hour drive to Murphy through Atlanta rush-hour traffic.  Friday was suppose to be a trip to the Ocoee Gorge in Tennessee to show Dot and Diane where the 1986 summer Olympics kayaking venue was held but it turned into my 6-hour out-patient stay in the ER.  While I was at the hospital, Dot and Diane sat out on our porch enjoying the hummingbirds.  Dot has had only one visit her feeder in Massachusetts and has never heard their chittering because she watches the feeder from inside her complex.  She was spellbound with their antics and their constant talking.   After I was released from the hospital,  plan B took effect and we did a tour of historic Murphy and a late afternoon lunch at Downtown Pizza.
If they look a bit grumpy,  it's because they haven't hit the buffet yet.
Saturday we just hung around out on the porch relaxing with our tea, hummus on crackers, and fruit so Dot could watch the HB's again.  They were the highlight of her trip here...............................
Dot's HB feeding on pineapple sage.

Cliff, his mother, and Diane returning from a visit to the garden.  He had to be really careful when he walked her down to the garden that she didn't topple and roll down the slope.
Sunday we drove to the Longhorn in Ellijay, Georgia to celebrate Dot's 90th and Cliff's 68th birthdays.  Instead of a cake, the waitress brought her a birthday sundae.

This morning we headed back to Atlanta at 5 AM for their 10 o'clock flight home.  They got out of Atlanta just in time before the thunderstorms and tornado warnings moved into the area.
