 Any guesses on what the most difficult thing to purge is? and I'm sure I'll come across more......................  First male hummingbird spotted on the back porch feeder at 9:05 yesterday morning.  Brought a smile to my face.

 Since moving to North Carolina over 14 years ago, I've been gardening by the moon as other ancient cultures have done for years.  It is believed that water in both the ground and the plants are affected by the gravitational pull of both the sun and the moon, just like the ocean tides are.  So I print out the month-by-month Farmers Almanac calendar and stick it on my fridge along with photos, greeting cards, and other close-to-my-heart memorabilia.  The other day while scrolling for the April growing dates, I spotted an article under "the best days for......." calendar which lists best days for certain chores and tasks.  "Best Days to Wash You Cat"  !!!!  Who would ever attempt to wash a cat???? In the fall I dry and preserve some seeds from our favorite veggies and flowers.  Cliff's winner tomato is the True Black Brandywine, a great producer.
