Sunday Morning

Phoebe songs echo back and forth through the trees.
Cup of coffee in hand.......greeting the morning.
My time for reflective prayer and meditation

Clouds move rapidly this morning.

Imagine the sound of the creek rushing and cascading down the mountain boulders.
Wild dogwood............fresh green leaves of spring.
Wild azalea will bloom in soft orange flowers in the summer warmth.
The other day I clipped and trimmed the mountain laurel, stacked some of the dead wood. We'll see the blossoms appear sometime in the summer.
As you can tell by most of my shots, I love the morning mist............ greeting each new day.
Some wild flowers..............
This one is a little blurry. Maxine kept rubbing up against my arm as I knelt down on the ground to capture the colors.

Beads of rain on sourwood leaves.

Whew! What a powerful storm we had in the early hours of the morning. The weather radio blared tornado warnings until 3AM, lightning flashed continuously followed by ear-deafening claps of thunder. I figured the way the wind was blowing that every plant on the porch would be found in the next county by daybreak. When Cliff heard the hail pound against the windows and roof, he got into his turnout gear expecting to respond to trees down or lightening strikes. Surprisingly there were no calls anywhere in the county. Clay County, next to us, reported a tornado. We got about 2.5 inches of rain in our gauge this morning and the creek down in the woods is so full and loud you could probably white water raft today instead of going to the Ocoee Gorge. The air feels clean and fresh. Pollen has been washed off the porch.
