The air was full of energy today.  Thunderstorms building to our west rumbled off and on all day.  Last night we had over an inch of rain softening the clay soil making it easy for me to pull weeds in the garden.  I spent the day in and out of the garden between rain showers transplanting some of overcrowded spinach and kale.  The clouds kept temperatures comfortable and allowed me to spend most of the day outside.  Cliff and Charlie took down a few more trees opening up the woods behind the garage.  I'm hoping the wine barrel gardens will get more sun.
Thirty-five garlic still maturing and arugula ready to eat.

Our weather forecast is for five to six more nights of very cold temperatures, unusually late in the season for this.  I hope all the plants make it. We'll cover the ones we can and hope the other make it.  Today the Carolina wren began building its nest in the kitchen geranium window box so we can't take that one down.  Cliff had to scoot the birds out of the garage this morning.  They were hoping around the attic looking for a place to build.  The garage door can't be left up during this nesting time.

Cliff is doing well. He brought up his portal report from the cardiologist yesterday.  With another device he researched medical terms while reading the report. It sounds like  many of the issues are average for his age but he does have AFib.  Tomorrow he'll do his blood workup and see the cardiologist next Wednesday.
