Just a quick update.............

Cherokee County was under a tornado watch until 1 am.  I fell asleep by ten and was awakened by rattling windows, wild winds, and close flashes of lightning. I figured that was a good time for a bathroom break then crawled back under my covers and slept until six.  My weather station reported over an inch of rain and the creek is flowing rapidly.  By the way the back woods shows a stream of cleared leaves, I can see where the rain gushed during the storm.  I have a few limbs down but nothing to really heavy to clean up. It's sixty now at ten o'clock with a light rain.  The storm is slowly clearing away with passing showers and sun.  Not a good day for my walk because we're still under wind advisory in Cherokee County with 15-20 mph gusts.  I don't want to meet a broken limb coming down with a gust.

I was very hungry this morning and felt like pancakes.  Made a batch of buckwheat pancakes and ate them all.  Have my electric blanket in the wash.  I'm done with winter reminders.  When it's dried, it'll be folded and packed away.  If I have a few thirty degree nights, I'll just add a couple more blankets or quilts.

I struggle with the dark mornings now but enjoy the longer daylight.   I hope to put a few seeds in starter soil today.

P.S.  My neighbor, Jim up the road, lost his wife, Barb, about six months before Cliff passed away.  Last year Jim met a lady at his church whom he "took a fancy to."  They would walk this road holding hands every day.  Betty always has a cute smile and  loves to chat when she sees people out in their yards.  Walking hand-in-hand they remind me of a cute little salt and pepper shaker set that you see in antique shops.  Two weeks ago Jim and Barb got married.  Betty had never flown or traveled far from home.  Jim always wanted to travel but his first wife didn't want to so for their honeymoon they flew out west, saw the Grand Canyon and other sites.  We on the mountain wish them a "happily ever after."
