GINGER STEAM

This is a simple effective remedy very similar to what our parents and grandparents used to clear out mucous and stagnation in the sinuses by avoiding chemicals.  First, lessen the amount of daily dairy intake as dairy causes mucous in the tissues.

Steps to create a healing ginger steam.

Place a pot of water with several slices of fresh ginger (or shred the ginger with a grater) on the stove and bring to a boil.

Turn heat down and simmer for 20 minutes.

Remove from the stove and place on a surface where you can sit and lean over the pot.  You can also transfer the ginger water to a bowl.

Place a towel over your head to create a tent for the steam to stay inside.

Breathe in deeply and let the steam loosen the gunk in your head and chest for as long as the steam lasts.

This works. I also use the Neti pot when once a week when I feel as if my sinuses are clogging.  Our parents and grandparents used many natural remedies.

Mark drove up from Florida last Friday to spend the weekend with us and let us take him out to an Italian Restaurant.  Saturday morning after stacks of blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, we went to Lowe's with our supply list.

More rock on the path under the trellis. Mark chopped and dug up a large dead stump on the path so his mother wouldn't trip and roll down the mountain never to be seen again.  Filling in around the fire pit

and the paths leading to the garden.  He tried to cover the many tree roots uncovered by erosion.  A bag of rock looks like it would cover a good area but upon opening and spreading it doesn't.

Cliff and Mark building my new potting bench.

old potting bench about 8 years ago made from pallets and found lumber

new bench with soil basin for mixing soil mediums.........work in progress

finished potting bench.....he added a small shelf under the top one then laughed because it didn't know what I could do with it.   I love his creativity.  He has a workshop in his Florida garage and loves being in it creating and building projects.  It's a great place to be to unwind and release.

Made blueberry muffins from plump fresh blueberries. Fresh from the oven is the only way to eat them.

Last project was stacking stones around the foxglove whatever the other plant is that comes up every spring.  If I don't surround it with wire the deer eat the tender buds before they can show off the flowers.  I am becoming blank when trying to recall flower/plant names.  Actually, finding I can't recall things that I need to know or should know and it's frustrating.

It's a kalanchoe plant!!!!! that's growing in the circle surrounded by wire......Whew!!  What a relief!!

Late Saturday afternoon we went to Enrico's Italian Restaurant for a wonderful relaxing dinner.

Monday morning Mark headed out after breakfast.  Such a joy and so uplifting when any of our children can spend a few days with us.

April 12 is Cliff's scan and the 19th is the oncologist appointment.
