Firecracker 10K
Mark arrived here safely late Friday afternoon from Kansas City, MO. Cliff wanted to take him to his (Cliff;s) favorite place, Downtown Pizza, where it's all the salad and varieties of pizza you can eat for $3.99............and you don't have to leave a tip. Great food before a 10K race!
This morning the temperature was 60 degrees when we all got up at 5:30 AM to get ready for the Firecracker 10K. By the time the runners lined up to start, the air felt much warmer and humid. While Mark ran, Cliff and I walked our track then waited at the finish line to get pictures of him.

10K runners went first, followed by 5K and 2-miles walkers fifteen minutes later.
It was 50 minutes into the race when Cliff told me to get the camera ready, but I thought I still had another 5-10 minutes before he'd come into view. Suddenly, Mark was there rounding the curve to the finish line and I wasn't ready. He's handing in his ankle chip after crossing the finish line. He ran his best time ever today.
