We spent last week at the Saratoga Springs Resort on the Disney complex, our Christmas gift from Michael and Mike Jr.  The cold front that came through our area spawning tornadoes made its way all the way to Florida bringing their temperatures back to a more normal daytime range of 83 degrees.  We forgot what that soupy humidity felt like.
The view from our 4th floor suite.  When we lived in Deltona and had the annual passes, we spent a lot of time  walking around Epcot tasting foods from different worlds and each spring enjoyed the Flower Festival. A couple of times we hopped to the other parks, but Epcot was our favorite.  During this stay we didn't enter any of the parks.  Not being a Florida resident anymore, our pass cost would have eaten up a social security check!   Downtown Disney was within walking distance so that became our evening walk destination.  The last time we were in that area, the children were young so it was interesting to see all the changes and added activities.  On Thursday we drove over to the Greek community in Tarpon Springs on the west coast to see the sponge divers.  My biggest decision was whether to eat seafood on the water or sit on a patio and order a Greek dish.

The seafood won out but we did get a decadent Greek dessert at Hella's and sat at a little table on the sidewalk.

View from the seafood restaurant.  We blew the whole diet thing and ordered fried scallops.

Before leaving Tarpon Springs, I did some wine tasting, bought a bottle of  Greek wine, visited a quaint bakery and picked up a loaf of Greek grain bread fresh from the oven.

Thursday ended up being the best day to see Tarpon Springs.  Friday was rainy off and on which made the air even more humid and sticky.  One of best things about being on a vacation is eating out and not having to plan meals for a few days.  Friday we went to a Longhorn Steakhouse in Kissimmee  for our favorite Flo's Filet.  This vacation allowed me to grab a night out with my circle of friends and Cliff was able to catch up on old times with people he needed to see.  After living in a more peaceful environment now for 3+ years, we found the bumper-to-bumper traffic, horns honking, drivers swerving in and out of traffic with no signals, quite stressful.  After a wonderful vacation though, it's nice to be back in the mountains.
