Lauria, this is the corner where Michelle's house was.
My parents' stone marker. The cemetary is located across the street from a restaurant. When my father died, the restaurant was Italian and we all thought how appropriate because he liked to eat there with my mother. On this recent trip back, we noticed it's now Chinese. He won't be sneaking over there in the night anymore.

we recently had a two day drive to MA for a family funeral and stopped in to visit Lauria, Jim, and their gaggle of wiggling, moving little munchkins. such fun to read to them and laugh with them again. they have grown by leaps and bounds, and have such a great command of the english language. children renew the spirit and breath life into our busy weary days. we spent time with cliff's family, stayed at my sister's house(my brother-in-law is a great cook!), and got in a short visit with my brother's family. one morning we ate breakfast at our favorite downtown diner and caught up on some of the goings on in the town i grew up in. when i was a teenager, that diner was our hangout after football games. just as we began to get rested up, it was time to start the two day drive home. before we left, i visited my Mother and Father's grave site. we didn't stay long because they're not there. they're in the flowers and the wind, in the clouds and in the rain, in my kitchen and on my mountain........... on the way home, we stayed again with our grandchildren. (sorry, no pictures....too many weirdos out there) baby olivia is now heavier than fat maxine, princess sofia can capture unique pictures with her camera, hayden is 4 going on 14, and grant is working on using his inside voice. what a bundle of energy! seeing them all made our trip less stressful.

thanks for not posting photos of the kids. :) too many loonies, that's why my blog is password protected.

isn't the empty lot sad! it's not really, though. it's full of potential, but to not see the house there any more is strange...

and the headstones are sad. actually sad to look at. but, i'm really glad you posted the photo. i needed to see the stones and have no idea when i'll get back up there.

it was strange to stand on lincoln street and view the lot where you and michelle played. that visit was such a terribly sad visit for cliff's family that when he drove me to grammy and grampy's site, it was such a relief to feel the peace there knowing the death was a natural part of living.
