Each spring Mother Nature unfolds surprises for me. Some....disappointing such as a late frost that burns blooms waiting to open in the warming sun.  The past two years my wisteria buds and other plants were frost burned.  This year the wild azalea flowers are deep orange and blooming throughout the woods.

This little one was a delightful surprise.

From the back porch looking deep into the woods.....................

The rose-breasted grosbeaks are here for awhile.  Bluebirds have been spotted going in and out of one of the two houses down by the garden.

Birds have been nesting building from the nesting balls placed in the trees.  I hope the female hummingbird builds nearby.

Last Wednesday on the way to the Brasstown farmers market traffic stopped for a rogue cow wandering from her pasture.

Around the homestead..................

                                                          arugula, carrots and parsley

tasty garlic chives grow thicker every year

                                                     Cliff's prize tomatoes

Wisteria buds that made it through the spring cold spells.......................

                                                           my new fig tree................

                                      potatoes, wild daisies and garlic

                                                    Cliff restained the yoga deck...............

Carolina wren perched on the window screen making sure the coast is clean before going to the nest.

Some of this may be repeats.  Enjoy them again.

I got my second booster yesterday and my body reacted worse than the last one.  I now understand what Cliff goes through after his chemo treatment.  No gardening today.  Just napping, drinking tea, and resting.

Update to add to the last post where we went to the Ocoee Gorge for our picnic.  The next night the ranger station was totally destroyed by fire.  It's an eerie feeling having just walked by the large stone building on Sunday.

no proofing today......too tired........heading back to the recliner............
