New Walking Route

We went to Meeks Park in Blairsville, GA Monday for our morning walk.  It's easy to get bored with the same daily exercise routine.  I had to go to the fabric store so we decided to try Meeks Park.

The only time we've been to this park is in July for the Scottish Highlands Games.
 AFLAC!!

It's a very serene walk and the trails are marked with the distances.
This will be shadier and cooler once the leaves fill the trees.

 Appalachian art sculpture.

The route challenges the runner/walker with hills.  I was huffing and puffing at the end of this long climb.
More Appalachian art.

This was a really enjoyable walk.........so peaceful.  We met runners and walkers of all ages.

Last night we had a line of thunderstorms come through and knock out power around midnight.  The storm lasted all through the night and into the early morning hours with continuous thunder and lighting.  Maxine hid behind the armoire all night and Cliff had a call during the storm.  We finally got power back just before 7.  I was ready to send Cliff out to the shed to start the generator so I could make my coffee.  It's been very windy for days, too.  After the storm passed our temperature only reached 55 today and again was very windy.
