Wild Flowers

I just love these wild mountain iris that pop up everywhere.....unexpectedly.........Mother Nature flaunting her colors and expressing her creativity for all to enjoy.

 Pea pickin'
I became overly enthusiastic about planting and have four rows of sweet peas thriving.  Right now it's exciting but in about another month, I'll be "pea pickin" from morning til night.
 Chinese cabbage
Time to start researching some new recipes.
Lettuce looks good but spinach hasn't done much.
I have all four rhubarb stocks planted at the outer edge of the garden and will plant the Catawba grapes later this week.  Weather has been very warm the past couple of days.  Today reached 88......too warm to work outside in the afternoon.

The Candlewick house has a  For Sale sign up......kind of sad, but necessary.  The last tie to our twenty-eight years in Florida.........good memories and many good experiences.

Our first hummingbird was just spotted at 7:27 PM at the feeder! I began making HB food two weeks ago changing the nectar once a week.  Hummingbirds were spotted in Blue Ridge, GA on March 17 and with the unusually warm days off and on, I hung the new feeder on April 1st......just in case.   While I was sitting in the living room blogging, I spotted the shadow of a little bird hovering  at the feeder.  He looked awful thin and puny.
