Well, we still don't have a garage door. It's been warm, dreary, rainy, moist, with early mountain fog that has been keeping the concrete floor wet. The truck and the car are back to being parked outside in their original spots in hopes that the air might move a little more freely and begin to dry the floor. They're probably wondering what they did wrong to be banished back to the elements. The door is a standard door and has been ordered and paid for over a month. Friday while Cliff was at Lowe's speaking with the manager, a message was left on our phone that the door would be delivered on the 17th and the installer would be calling to set up a time. By the time he arrived home after telling the manager that this was the last time we would be making any more large purchases from Lowe, an updated phone message said the door was now in at Lowe's. Hmmmmm.............how did that happen?! But.........the door is the wrong size. We ordered an 8' x 16' single door with four windows (as stated on our paperwork). The door that Lowe's has for us is 7' x 16' with no windows. Our contractor has never seen such a screw up. He's also done with Lowe's. We think we have things straightened out and the installer should be here Tuesday to put in the door. As soon as we can begin to dry out the concrete floor, the vehicles will return to their new home. We'll both be here for the delivery and installation.
Happy Summer Solstice! It was a beautiful start to this day. The typical mountain fog had settled in when I got up at 6:30 but burned off shortly after. I always go outside when I first get up, scan for wildlife, and walk around soaking in the morning peace and calm. Did about 20 minutes of stretchy yoga, showered and had a light breakfast of cream of buckwheat with ghee-fried peaches. I still felt a little full from eating Italian food with Janice last night. We go out at 4:30 and take our time eating and talking, have a glass of wine and Friday night is dessert night. Janice is doing better. It'll be a year in August since she lost Ernie. I left the breakfast dishes in the sink and headed to our Murphy Farmers Market. First stop was "Healing Ways" produce farmers for fresh Swiss chard, butter crunch lettuce, and a bunch of young summer squash and zucchini since all of mine are falling off the plants....
